Today I fine-tuned the scenery I have spent the last week making. You can see the extra foliage scattered generously about and some new additions to journey’s end – the special plant the player has to find is illuminated by god rays – beams of heavenly light from above. I also inserted a special light right above the pink plant called “natural light” which makes the area immediately around it brighter. I tracked down a bug that was making the first bridge impassible and then moved on to the coast again.
There I added an extra terrain layer and added detail to the terrain around rocks and debris, per a suggestion I received. I also spent a good amount of time trying to understand the monster generation, quest , and trigger systems by following along with some very old tutorials and outdated documentation. In the end, there were too many things that didn’t match up between the old documentation and what I was using to allow much progress – I suppose given enough time I could figure it all out, but not in the time I have now.
I will go ahead and polish up what I have and turn it in. Thus, this will be my last post in this series. Thanks for following along this short journey with me.
